Nova Nicaea 

Nova Nicaea Association is an organisation of Christians committed to promoting and advancing intentional Christian polities, in Free Cities, Special Economic Zones, and New Nations.

The New Nation Project welcomes Nova Nicaea as a supporting partner.

Our lives are defined by societal structures, they determine how we create our laws, how we educate our children, how we earn and save our money. 

As Christians we live in societies, defined by structures of law and culture. The structures determine how we craft our laws and regulations, how we learn, do business, and raise our families. These structures of governance are good and instituted by God (Rom 13:1-7), but as we are fallen individuals, these States and Magistrates can become large and entrenched, and become incredibly hard to change from within. 

As we see throughout history, and we are witnessing in the Western World, governments and laws are becoming destructive and increasingly anti-Christian. 

As was written in the US Declaration of Independence, sometimes, in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another.  Too often, however, this involves conflict.  

How, then, do we change our societies into ones based on Liberty and a firm foundation on God’s Word?

If we want change we need to build new Structures that people can peacefully and freely opt Into.

“We believe it is possible and desirable to build a Christian polity even in this day and age. If a sufficient number of volunteers can be found to get such a project off the ground, we will give it our all. However, it must never be an attempt to impose our convictions on those who think or believe differently. Rather, we envision building a Christian civilization from scratch in an uninhabited area - as a beacon from which the light of the world can shine far and wide. A city on a mountain in biblical parlance.”

A nation, at its core, is not the land or the buildings and streets, but rather its people.  With a desire for liberty based on Christian ethics, Nova Nicaea members will become an indispensable part of the New Nation Project.

The following is from John Winthrop’s sermon, "A Model of Christian Charity" delivered on March 21, 1630, at Holyrood Church in Southampton, before his first group of Massachusetts Bay colonists embarked on the ship Arbella to settle Boston.

We shall find that the God of Israel is among us, when ten of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies; when He shall make us a praise and glory that men shall say of succeeding plantations, "may the Lord make it like that of New England." For we must consider that we shall be as a city upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us. So that if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from us, we shall be made a story and a by-word through the world.

Now the only way to avoid this shipwreck, and to provide for our posterity, is to follow the counsel of Micah, to do justly, to love mercy, to walk humbly with our God. For this end, we must be knit together, in this work, as one man. We must entertain each other in brotherly affection.



Matthew 5:13-16 - Salt and Light

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

charity in all things.
